"men should learn how to cry, women have to learn how to say no."

i just wanted to say how much the title speaks. i was discussing some trivial matters with some friends and he taught me that it is perfectly normal to say "no" to something. People are people, and they ultimately will get over things (if they do not then lol, grow up right?).

but oh, to live in a society where we do not learn these things enough.

seriously, no one taught me how to say no in school/college/uni.

honestly, this revelation in itself is quite liberating.

Spring 2017

And just like that, the semester is wrapping up. Not a single decent blog post. Of course, it is a Sunday and the sermon just resonates with the season I am currently in. Not a very easy one, but oh man, is there a situation in life that you face, and the Bible does not have an answer for?
I remember these verses when I was running. Running with too many injuries and expectations to perform well. Well, what's changed now right?
He still remains. Faithful. I'm thankful He never leaves me. Thankful for seasons of learning to build character. Because honestly, I am probably the biggest WIP.

2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.
4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Romans 5:2-5 (NLT)

Frustration by Graham Cooke

Frustration does not exist in the Kingdom.
It is a device of the world,
a negative construct contrary to
the nature of the Bright One

Frustration is an admission that we
are baffled, checked, blocked  -
neutralized in faith -
by people, circumstances, and opposition.
Frustration legitimized negative emotions,
giving them a place in our experience

Frustration is discontent
opening our hearts to lethargy.
We become irked, resentful, disappointed,
gullible to defeat
Owned by pessimism.

We must learn how to use frustration
and not be used by it.
to be frustrated is to admit
that I do not possess at this moment
the required amount of patience, peace
and joy for the circumstances of my life.

If I focus on frustration,
the core of my attention
is the opposite of Who God is for me.

Frustration is an emotional sign
that I need an upgrade.
It points to an available increase,
raising my awareness of God’s provision.
Therefore, frustration must turn to
celebration of God’s intent.

In the hands of the enemy
it robs me of enthusiasm
It blinds me to all the possibilities
of the One True Spirit.

I become disheartened., looking for
pity, sympathy
Seeking fellow victims of discouragement.
I give permission to be afflicted.
Frustration causes negative fellowship
as I move in the opposite spirit
to Christ within.

In the hands of the Shining One
it points toward fullness
the reality of something more~
greater success unfolding.
Frustration is turned into confession
in one stroke of happy thinking.

Thank you, Father, that frustration
reveals my lack of Your fullness.
It points me to the upgrade available.
It releases your permission to become more.

Patience, peace, and joy abound
constantly in your presence.
Grace follows the upgrade;
love flows more powerfully.

I am renewed, restored, made bigger,
enabled to see from a greater height
of your affection.
Everything must bow
to patience, peace, and joy;
They are heaven’s true reality.

Frustration is earthly, one dimensional
and destructive.
It reduces everything it touches.
It makes us start everything
from a place of deficit.
We struggle to catch up
with God’s reality.
Frustration is reality
from a wrong dimension.

To fight frustration we must turn
our back on it,
Look into the heart of the One
committed to our development,
Trade our sorrow for His joy.
Frustration must turn to celebration.

Patience is the fast track to greater heights
Joy is the welcoming party to Presence
Wisdom releases the focus of heaven
Peace releases the angst,
causing us to smile, be carefree
Contentment with Godliness
….a sure winner.

Living on One

I watched a video about two guys who wanted to know what it was like to live under a dollar a day & it changed my life, for real.

So, one part that really got me was when one of the villagers (Antonio) and his family (of four kids) cooked a special dish for Chris, Zach, Sean and Ryan. They had so little yet they willingly gave so much. Let me explain how little they live on - the whole family, six individuals (including a baby) live on $1.25 on average. Some days are worse, some days, better. Yet, Antonio personally offered and told them that they can come over anytime, for food, shelter, and he will try his best to provide for them. Wow.

I wonder, how can someone with so little, love that much?

Another thing that struck me was that these families had to constantly choose between feeding their children or sending them to school (for a decent education). No parent should ever have to decide between these choices.

This movie is an eye opener. Everyone should watch it. Guys, I am so ashamed. I don't think I can survive on $1 per day. These people don't have an option. I cannot live one day without the 'basic' necessities, like water, electricity. What is insane is that our 'basic' amenities are considered luxurious to these people. People like you and I, with big dreams, dreams to become a football star. Yet, they live knowing that, at the age of 12 years old, their future is set to be a farmer. They know that school is not at option.

Wow, 12 years old guys. When I was 12 I am not sure if I even knew what an ambition was. Yes, I had dreams of what I wanted to be, but I never had a path preset for me already.

When thinking about world poverty, I've always wondered what the ultimate solution was. This movie answered my question. There is not ultimate solution, however, partial solutions lead to the eventual solution for world hunger. So many factors have to be considered when addressing an issue like this. This will only be possible if every small factor considered, will be addressed and hence solved.

Lately, I've been blessed. Blessed to have watched so many eye opening movies. Here is a short list of what I think is worth watching: Black and white, The True Cost, Living on One.

Woke up this morning
Jon: Bolt won!
Me: Huh? 200m?
Jon: yeaa finals just now *4am
Me: Oh then Blake?
Jon: Second, ask me who got third. ask me...
Me: huh? okay who got 3rd? USA? Tyson Gay right?
Jon: Noooo, the new Jamaican guy; Meir something. they dominate everything wei.
Me: ohhh, really?

I was so tired this morning and apparently the brother stayed up all night watching olympics. Its that season hey. But it was the only thing that made us talk lately. Brings the whole family to the TV.

Just got back from Empire with to brother to get him a farewell gift. We shopped so fast that our parking was free! Woots, bunch of cheap people we are but who hates free stuff right? Hahah. Anyways, my tables definitely missing me today. Considering the fact that i've never touched my books after exams sighs. Went for a jog and I saw so many schoolmates. Hee. Apparently everyones out at 6 eh. Anyway, we've been getting some really great food lately. Going out for family dinners every night, stuffing Jon with all the Malaysian food before Sunday. Haha. Oh since i'm not on twitter now, my facebook converted into timeline automatically. Nooooooo. It's so confusing and hard to use. How can they do this to me? :( iTunes shuffled to Joe Brooks. Aiya, i'm really tired of everything. Tired of aching and dreading Jon's departure. Just staring into space lately and thinking of hows life going to be without him is distracting enough. And to add it all up, he's not going to be here for the holidays.

Oh shut up you; he'll be back next olympics. Make the best out of everything.

Oh man, I really wish you were online too. Really need to talk to someone, why did I delete your number again? dumb me. :(

#487 Good Ol' Fashioned Love

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCeiefp4ta8]

Tell me why, when we fall in love, all we wanna do is play it cool?
And all the words we never say, nobody ever wants to be the fool.
But I couldn't see the sense in that, oh no.
'Cause whenever I see your face, girl, I just can't hold back.

And when the day is breaking, I'm looking for your love
and when the day is fading, you're all I'm thinking of.
There ain't no use pretending, I've had enough.
I've got to get up, get on with the real, and say what I feel.

Say what I feel.

Now, you can read me like a book, so you ain't gotta read between the lines
(ain't gotta read between the lines).
I may as well just say it, oh, you know exactly what is on my mind
(girl you know what's on my mind).
So you gotta know just where I'm at, oh yeah,
'cause whenever I see you smiling, I just can't hold back.

'Cause when the day is breaking, I'm looking for your love
and when the day is fading, you're all I'm thinking of.
There ain't no use pretending, I've had enough.
I've got to get up, get on with the real...

And if I lose you now,
I'll only regret the things I never said.
But I don't, I don't know how
to show you the way I feel.

'Cause when the day is breaking, I'm looking for your love
and when the day is fading, you're all I'm thinking of.
There ain't no use pretending, I've had enough.
I've got to get up, get on with the real, and say what I feel.

This is something different! My kind of music! They're so talented Heee, good music indeed! Oh weells, haven't been online on a lappie in a long time. So here's a short update. Everyone's headed off to Kem Perdana tomorrow morning while i'm gonna be here. Saturday is a big day, for a few of us. Heh, another closed run. (Competition)

Anyways, centralized training started yesterday. And I've been really tired in school lately ): Learned how to say: " If you don't come school tomorrow, I don't wanna friend you. " in Chinese from them classmates. Heh, teachers haven't really been teaching lately due to the maths & science week I think. But schools been preeettty busy for them, with the drama competitions and etc.

Haven't been feeling well lately too, keep feeling tired and sick, nevertheless God pulls me through each time. Crashed into someone while running today. Literally, a coach actually. Everyone is crammed into that teeny stadium and I couldn't stop. Was too tired, so I crashed landed and made a whole scene. OHWELLS.

Training has its perks too :)

Till then!
